jammed!
also have my annual summer solstice strawberry balsamic vinegar brewing. and have put up enough strawberries in the freezer to keep me in berry chocolate cobbler for the coming year!
it's looking like this will be a fantastic year for blueberries as my shrubs are overflowing. but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
raspberries are coming on and its time to pick, pick, pick!
what are you putting up this year?
dirty aprons and messy kitchens,

DeleteOoooh, yum! Would you be willing to share the recipe for strawberry balsamic vinegar?
ReplyDeleteYes, of course Julia! clean, hull and halve strawberries. fill a quart jar half to 3/4 full of berries. fill to top with balsamic vinegar. cover with tight lid and shake or turn once a day for 6 weeks or so. decant or pour off vinegar and use in evry way you can think of! i personally scoop the soaked berries onto vanilla ice cream and devour until bulging! i use the vinegar mostly in dressings and marinades. my friend Donna just uses all the left over hulls to make her vinegar and thats a great idea too! have fun with it! and thanks for cheking out the blog! xo jennette
